Race Report: Run Run Rudolph 10K (2014)

Last year the Run Run Rudolph was my first ever 10K, and I've been looking forward to running it again.  Chris and I have been planning on running this one for a while, even training a bit on the course a few months ago, and we were both looking forward to it.

Race Report: MADD Dash 485 10K (2014)

"Run it Before You Drive It!"

The unique thing about this early November race is that it's held on a soon-to-be opened stretch of a new interstate loop around Charlotte.  It isn't the first MADD Dash, but it's the first I've heard of and it seemed like a great idea.  As far as I can tell, the NCDOT put on the race, with the support of some terrific sponsors.

It was hard not to be excited about this one, my first leg in the Tuna Run 200!  A 200-mile relay, and I'm about to run about 5 1/2 of those.  The weather was terrific:  sunny, slight breeze, and not too hot - yet.

200 miles.  12 runners.  2 drivers.  Volunteers.  Fun.

This was an entirely new kind of adventure for me and most everyone on our team.  The Tuna Run 200 is a 36-leg, 200.87-mile run through Eastern North Carolina.  We had 12 runners on this adventure, plus drivers and volunteers.

The race began Friday morning, continued through Friday night and into Saturday, and we finished Saturday afternoon at Atlantic Beach.

200 miles + 12 runners + 2 drivers + volunteers = Tuna Run 200.  What are we thinking????
